Following a successful bid for funding from the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, Bangor University worked with ZSA to develop a Welsh translation of the ZSA suicide awareness training.
Having the training in Welsh means organisations across Wales can offer the training to their staff in compliance with the Welsh Language Standards.

The training has been developed for those close to veterans, being their family members and friends, but can be taken by anyone aged 16 and over.
The Life Rooms have a threefold approach to improving health: learning, social prescribing and community.
It focuses on prevention and enabling the whole community – service users, carers, their families and local communities – to bring about change.
As part of its training offer, the Life Rooms regularly run ZSA suicide awareness training sessions.
The Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre (M-RIC) is working to improve mental healthcare for all patients and service users through ground-breaking research. Set up as a partnership between the University of Liverpool and Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, M-RIC brings together academic researchers, healthcare and industry to trial new treatments and deliver more innovative services. This includes evaluating new drugs and new uses of existing drugs. It also involves researching digital therapies such as apps and artificial intelligence for delivering virtual talking therapies and new ways to support mental wellbeing.
The NHS Benchmarking Network and ZSA work together to develop our interactive suicide data map which explores:
- Prevalence of issues that lead to mental ill-health and potentially suicide
- Frequency of known groups at highest risk of suicide
- Levels of service demand and speed of access
- The extent of and effectiveness of service provision
The functionality is accessible and easy to use, comprising key metrics within each theme, corresponding bar charts, and opportunities to delve deeper into your local picture.
