Fundraising ideas

Suicide is the leading cause of death for people under 35. One in five of us will experience suicidal thoughts.

We believe one life lost to suicide is one too many. Through our work want to raise awareness of suicide, challenge stigma and make suicide prevention something everyone feels they can get involved in.

Your support, big or small, helps make a difference.

How you could choose to fundraise...

Run a marathon. Hold a coffee morning or bake sale. Host quiz night. Choose something that works for you!

If you’re looking for inspiration, here are some ideas to get you thinking…

Putting on your running shoes can be a great way to challenge yourself.

You can join an event to raise money for ZSA or organise your own challenge:

  • Run to or from work for a month
  • Host a sponsored run. Raise money and a laugh by making it fancy dress.

Sponsored walks can be a brilliant way to connect with others/nature, challenge yourself and raise money.

You might want to join an existing event or set up a challenge with colleagues or friends.

A bake sale can be a really simple way to get work colleagues, friends and family involved in raising money whilst enjoying delicious treats.

You can keep it simple or for some extra fun make it themed or a competition for the winning or best decorated bake.

ost a movie night with friends and/or family. You could charge your guests the cost of a cinema ticket and snacks (who can resist popcorn bags, sweets for pic n mix, nachos) or ask them to make a donation.

You could host it indoors or outside with a projector, blankets, deck chairs and lights.

Make it extra special by creating a red-carpet style event and ask your guests to dress up in their finest or you could opt for costumes inspired by your film.

With so many great films and genres to choose from, here are a few suggestions to get your started...

  • The Greatest Showman
  • Love Actually
  • Legally Blonde
  • School of Rock
  • Back to the Future (you could even make it a movie marathon!)
