Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust
Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is community trust in Sussex providing home and hospital based care across East Sussex (including Brighton) and West Sussex
Sussex Community NHS Trust sees thousands of patients each day either in their own homes or within our 11 intensive care units, urgent care centres or in specialist outpatient clinics. Most patients are referred to the trust with physical health conditions but in a significantly high proportion of these presentations there are also underlying or overt instances of poor mental health. Poor mental health has a demonstrable impact upon physical health, and Sussex Community NHS Trust is committed to providing more holistic care which recognises this reality.
We are aware of an increase in the volume of patients who have expressed suicidal ideation or intentionality and believe that we have a moral and professional obligation to equip our staff to be able to be confident to support and signpost people experiencing this as effectively as we can. Having reviewed a number of training offers we believe that the ZSA programme is most suitable.
